May Makeup Tray Mixup: Whatever

I decided to give myself a break this month (to be honest, I'm planning this month's basket in March). No themes, no restraints. I just want to use whatever I feel like using this month that is already in my collection.

Makeup Tray Mixup: Light and Airy

I don't know about you, but when I think of spring, I think of light and airy. I never really experienced Spring because I never lived in a place that has seasons. So when I think of spring, I think of the stereotypical garden with people running around in sundresses and their hair are billowing in the wind.

To celebrate spring, I would keep my makeup light, natural and airy. I am welcoming natural colors this month and whipped formulas.

  

March Makeup Tray Mixup: Spring/Summer 2015 Trends Part 1

I like to browse through what is happening in the runways even though most of the time I don't follow it. While many trends are repetitive, there are times when I see something new and would like to try it out.

There are some trends I would like to try hence why I picked this theme for March. There's also the added benefit that I don't have to think about a theme this month.

February 2015 Monthly Makeup Tray Mixup: Pink

I'll say this right now, I don't like pink. Pink doesn't agree with my deep fall colouring and I don't like pink because it doesn't agree with me. I try to wear as little pink as possible. I got rid of a lot of my pink clothes and gave away a lot of my pink makeup.

So why then am I choosing "Pink" as my theme this month?

One reason, Valentines day.

Nov/Dec Monthly Makeup Basket: The Purge

I decided to make a last ditch effort to use up as many products as I can before 2015 comes so I would use the same products on November and December. As a reminder, I would be using my "Makeup I want to finish by 2014" alongside these products. I just don't want to picture all of them.

The last theme for 2014 is called "The Purge"-products that are almost on their way. I expect that I would finish some of these products soon so I would add a backup on some categories. 

October Makeup Tray Mix-Up: Unsung Products

For October I decided to use "Unsung Makeup Product" as my theme for this month. These are the products I  actually like but for some reason I don't usually reach out for. Whether it's because I'm too busy working on another product.

September Makeup Tray Mixup: Ipsy product.

I think this is the proper time to use up all of my Ipsy product. I've used up a couple of products along the way but it is time to really focus on using up these products. Ipsy usually gives away deluxe samples so they are easier to use up.

I have a lot of products from ipsy just after 4 months of subscription, some them are not even pictured here. 

July Makeup Tray Mix-up: Melt-Proof products

It's a hot, hot summer especially here in the LA area. (Which, let's face it, is a desert) This month, I chose melt-proof products. I am going to school on the summer just for fun so I have an excuse to wear makeup everyday. But that also means that I would need to use melt-proof products so my face wouldn't be melting off int he middle of the day.

May 2014 Makeup Tray Mix Up Update

This is a new feature in my Makeup Tray Mix Up where we see how much damage I could make in the products I picked out. I don't expect much progress, at all but it's nice to see how much product I use up in a month.

Urban Decay Naked Palette-I don't really expect this much progress on eyeshadow especially a big palette like this one. I manage to make a couple of everyday looks but I didn't get a chance to make night looks. It's just nice to have a picture as a reference point.

May Makeup Tray Mix-up: High End Products

I decided to bring out the "Makeup Tray Mix-up" (aka MTMU) to give me some focus on which products to use.

For new comers, here is how it works. I select a theme every month and I would pick a couple of products that fit that theme. I would focus on using up those product for that month. 

This month, I pick  the theme "High End Products". May is my birthday month so I decided to use nothing but the best in my makeup collection to celebrate.

December Makeup Tray Mix-up: Products I Hit Pan On.

We are at the last stretch of the year and int he last ditch effort to finish as many products as possible before the year's end I pick the theme "Products I hit pan on." After all, the easiest products to finish are the ones already halfway finished.

November Makeup Tray Mix-up: Discontinued/Limited Edition Products

I debated what the theme for this month's Makeup tray mix-up but I have come to the conclusion that this month's theme is "Discontinued Products". I picked this theme because sometimes I find myself "saving" discontinued products but in reality, the reason I even bought those products in the first place is to use them.

October Makeup Tray Mixup: 2 Year old Products and older

We are down to the last 3 months of the year. Yes, my dear readers, it's almost 2014 and I barely finished 12 beauty products this year. In an effort to finish up a couple more products before the year end, I would focus on using specific products that fall under a theme. This month's theme are "years old products."  These are the products that were either given to me or I opened for at least 2 years ago.
